Hardwood Flooring Sales/Installation/Refinishing Services Performed: Yes Work Completed Date: November 12, 2012 Hire Again: Yes Approximate Cost: $10,000.00 Home Build Year: 2005 Description Of Work: When we purchased our home many of the areas in the downstairs had beautiful custom hand scraped floors. I contacted numerous hardwood floor contractors from Angie’s list. They all – no kidding- told me that it would be IMPOSSIBLE to match the floors because the hand scraping is artistry, it’s difficult to match the exact wood and stain shading, etc., etc. Thankfully I found Scott and Curtis here in Southlake. They took one look at our floors and said it would be no problem at all. So we got rid of all of the carpet in our downstairs and in about 6 days (not including the week that the wood sat in the house in order to acclimate to its particular humidity, temperature, etc.) they SEAMLESSLY extended the wood floors throughout the first floor of our home! We are thrilled. We can’t tell where the originals start and the new ones end. We have gotten numerous compliments and we are thrilled. Other contractors suggested laminate (yikes!) or tile or combinations of tile and wood, but generally said that we would never match and never be pleased if we tried to extend the hand scraped floors! Member Comments: Perfect. On time, on budget, all of the craftsmen were incredibly polite and very mindful to keep the dust to the minimum and try to protect the existing wood floors and the rest of the home. That is not to say that it isn’t a bit of a hassle during the initial installation and the scraping sound is pretty rough on the ears. But they are beautiful and well worth that small inconvenience. They were excellent at instructing me on the proper care of the floors and we couldn’t be more pleased. Again, they were the best product at the lowest price.
